The FBANA International tournament 2024 held at Niagara Falls August 3-4 culminated in a wonderful event as one of the best ever organized intercity basketball event ever. The management of the games from schedule, referees, time and score management went in a flawless operation ever. Eighty teams from Novice to Grandmaster divisions competed for the two-days event. Games were held at the modern four gyms at Brock University and the ultra modern 4 gyms at Canada Games Park. It was a continuous highly competitive event in all thirteen divisions. As Michelle Roberts told FBANA, “one of the best organized tournament ever, I’ve been to”. It’s a testament to the two-days competitive environment.
Accordingly, the FBANA Chairman for the event, Rene Villavecer, Director for Windsor, acknowledged the hardwork done by all FBANA Directors to make this sports event to a higher level of expectation. “Everyone contributed to make it successful, to bring our event an experience to remember “.
Prominent Philippine Basketball Pro Scout Tonichi Yturri was also in attendance scouting prospects and he told FBANA INFO “This is a very good event to scout prospective players who are very promising. We talked to some prospects with potentials and we go from there.”At the end of the day, there are champions, finalists and selected Most Valuable Players. Preparation is underway for FBANA 2025 International Tournament, a bigger, better , more inclusive basketball event in North America.
